Every week, families in North Minneapolis and beyond walk through our doors or meet us at our Mobile Pet Resource Center because they need help caring for their pets. Whether it’s pet food, litter, collars, leashes, access to low-cost veterinary care, or finding dog inclusive housing - My Pit Bull is Family is there to make sure no one has to choose between feeding themselves or their pets.
Through our North Minneapolis Pet Resource Center, we distribute more than 30,000 pounds of pet food and supplies each month to families in need. On average, that means over 150 families each week get the support they need to keep their pets healthy and at home. By removing barriers like cost and access, we help prevent pet surrenders, reduce shelter overcrowding, and make sure that people and pets can stay together.
We can’t forget our dog inclusive housing work either - every day there are nearly 200 unique searches of our National Dog Inclusive Rental Database. A tool to help keep people and pets together across the country with the most basic need - a safe place to call home.
On Saturday, October 11th, from 6:00–9:00 PM, we’ll host our 14th Birthday Bash at the North Minneapolis Pet Resource Center (2825 N 2nd St, Minneapolis, MN 55411)—a celebration of our community and the families we serve. This special evening will feature food, music, a Silent Auction, and opportunities to uplift the work keeping pets and people together.
